You can not convert from a tourist visa to a business visa. I am not sure about being your own employer - previously you could get a business visa on arrival (and needed no document). Now that you apply through an embassy, their seems to be a more formal process. I think some people have paid to get formal documents, but I don’t know anything about that. yes, you can apply online or embassy. The point I was trying to make was that their seems to be a more formal process to review if you actually qualify for business visa (before there wasn’t), and you can’t do it on arrival (or switch from tourist to business when in country) !
